Getting Started

Q: How do I start making a calendar?

A: As a new visitor to My Perfect Calendar, it's really easy for you to get started. Firstly you need to become a registered user. To do this you will need to click on the "First time? Register here" icon at the top right of the home page and fill in your details. Then you are ready to start creating personal calendars by following the 5 simple steps on the site. Photos can be stored in your account and used for future calendars and can be added to, edited and deleted as and when you want to!

Q: Can you give me some ideas of themes for calendars?

A: As our calendars can start at any month during the year, they can be used for lots of different occasions. Our most popular orders are for birthday and Christmas gifts, however there are lots more reasons for purchasing one of our bespoke calendars either for yourself or as a gift, and here are just a few suggestions:
  • Weddings
  • Engagements
  • Hen do's
  • Academic year
  • Corporate gifts
  • Staff gifts
  • Mothers to be
  • New mothers

Q: Do the calendars contain any form of branding?

A: Yes, each calendar page will have a discrete "My Perfect Calendar" logo on it - the marque of a genuine quality product.

Q: Do you offer preferential rates for bulk orders?

A: We have preferential rates for bulk orders in excess of 250 calendars.
We also have a scheme for rewarding not for profit organisations who promote our calendars through their networks.
If you are interested in either of these opportunities, please contact us at customerservice@myperfectcalendar.co.uk

Uploading Images

Q: Is there a limit on the number of images I can upload?

A: The number of images you can upload is determined by the file size of those images. You have an 'allowance' of 100MB storage space for your images. If you check at the top of your screen when you are logged on, you will see how many images and how much file space you have used.

Q: I am having trouble with the image uploader software...

A: If you are having problems with the image uploading software, you can upload your images manually, one at a time. Simply go to Step 1 and click on the option to upload each image one at a time.

Q: How do I add images to my account?

A: After you first register as a user of the website, you will be taken to 'Step 1' which is where you can upload your images. There are two ways to upload your images, you can either use the built-in software to select your folders and drag and drop images ready for upload, or you can manually upload them individually. You will find instructions on the Step 1 page to assist you in this process.

Q: How long will you store my images?

A: As long as you are registered with My Perfect Calendar, your images will be stored on our servers. If you do not make a purchase within twelve months, we will contact you to notify you that your account is about to expire.

Q: What if I want to upload more images than I have space for?

A: You have 100MB of space for your images which should be plenty for you to produce a number of different calendars. If you want to upload more images that will exceed your storage space, you will be required to delete some existing images. You can do this from the "My Account" page.

Q: How do I crop, enlarge or zoom in on part of an image?

A: Currently you cannot crop, enlarge or zoom in part of an image within the site - you will need to do this offline using any image manipulation software.

Q: Will the photos be cropped when printed?

A: Images will be automatically cropped to fit the picture area which is landscape. If you upload portrait pictures then the system will automatically crop the centre section. Remember that the results can be seen in detail in the preview pages before you place your order.

Q: What type of images can I upload?

A: You can upload the most popular image file formats from most cameras. We support JPEG and GIF file formats.

Q: Can you do red-eye removal or otherwise improve my images for me?

A: No, you should ensure that you are happy with your images before you upload them. There is a 'quality control' function at the upload stage that will inform you of the resolution quality of your images.

Q: Some part of my image has been cropped. How did this happen?

A: Images are automatically cropped to fit the landscape shape of the calendar picture slot. If you upload pictures that are portrait, for example, the centre section will be cropped and used.

Q: How do I delete images from my account?

A: All of your historical activity can be reviewed in 'My Account' which can be found on the left-hand side of the dark green bar at the top of your screen. Within 'My Account', you'll find the 'My Photos' page which will show you thumbnails of all of the images you have uploaded. Beneath each image is an option to delete it.

Q: What is the minimum resolution for my images for a good quality calendar?

A: The minimum resolution for a good reproduction is 1600x1200 pixels, usually this mean setting your camera to fine or superfine. The image area on the calendar is approximately 26cm x 17cm and will be printed at a maximum of 240dpi.

Q: How long will it take to upload all of my pictures?

A: The length of time it will take to upload your pictures will be dependent on the speed of your internet connection.
